The City of DeSoto entertainment continues! We are excited to continue our DeSoto Fourth Friday Music Series online.

On Friday, October 23, the DeSoto Arts Commission will partner with the DeSoto Domestic Violence Awareness Commission to present “Rise Up – A Domestic Violence Awareness Event” featuring the incomparable Martha Burks.  This Virtual Concert will begin at 7 pm via Facebook Live, just click the link below to view.  There are a vast number of avenues that domestic violence survivors can take to not just begin their healing journey, but also continue down that healing path with a clear focused mind and a strong heart. One of those avenues is listening to music.  Join us and invite other to hear Ms. Burks renditions of inspirational songs and remember, if you see something, say something!

Concert Series

Our free Fourth Friday Music series features musicians from around the Metroplex. The DeSoto Arts Commission presents a free music concert on the Fourth Friday of every month.  From January to April the concert takes place in the DeSoto Corner Theatre.  Once the weather warms up, the Fourth Friday concerts move to the Outdoor Amphitheater at DeSoto Town Center, behind the Library. Bring your entire family for a beautiful night filled with great beats and lyrics, and an evening at the Town Center that everyone can enjoy.

What is the DeSoto Arts Commission

The DeSoto Arts Commission provides the citizens of DeSoto with opportunities for cultural enrichment through the arts.

The vision of the Arts Commission is for DeSoto to become the arts and cultural entertainment Mecca of the Best Southwest Region.

The primary function of the DeSoto Arts Commission is to manage the City of DeSoto Arts Grants Program.  The Arts Grant Program’s role is to provide financial assistance to non-profit arts organizations in the encouragement, promotion, improvement, and application of the arts.  The DeSoto Arts Commission also acts as a presenter and organizes special performances in music, dance, theatrical productions, comedy and more.

DeSoto Arts Live

Saturday, September 26, 2020 2 to 10 PM

DeSoto Arts Live! is an art and music festival held at DeSoto Town Center which is designed to celebrate the visual and performing arts. There will be visual artists displaying and selling their work and painting on site, strolling minstrels, children’s activities and a full schedule of musical entertainment, representing various genres.
